Hair Aid Returns to the School of Hope 💇‍♀️

For the second year in a row, the amazing team at Hair Aid made their way to the School of Hope, bringing their passion and expertise on the art of hairstyling. This time, we were thrilled to welcome volunteer stylists Rachael and Geri, both seasoned professionals from the US and Australia, who led hands-on workshops teaching everything from simple trims to stylish layers.

This year’s workshops included nine dedicated participants: two of our scholarship students and a group of parents, guardians, uncles, and siblings of our students. Not only did they get to practice their new skills, but many of our students, their family members, and volunteers also walked away with fresh new haircuts—making the experience a win-win for everyone.

One of the highlights of the training was a special session led by renowned Guatemalan barber Pepe el Barbero. Hair Aid coordinated with him to host a day focused on men's haircuts, bringing together participants from three other schools and NGOs in the area. The training took place at a nearby school, where Pepe shared his expertise with everyone. At the end of the day, he made an exciting announcement: he would be offering 25 full scholarships for his professional hairdressing course. Seven of our students were among the lucky recipients, and they’ll begin their six-week training next week.

A huge thank you to Hair Aid for their continued support. These workshops don’t just boost confidence with great haircuts—they also equip our community with practical, income-generating skills.
