Volunteering in Guatemala: Los Chispudos came to teach math!
For one week, Gunner and Whitman worked enthusiastically alongside 12 4th and 5th grade students, whose love and ability for numbers is truly inspiring. To make sure they personalized their teaching, they began by applying an aptitude test, and based on the results, they designed fun and challenging math activities, exercises and games.
Students not only learned new math concepts, but also enhanced their existing skills. Gunner and Whitman's enthusiasm and dedication were reflected in the progress of the students, who sincerely appreciated their commitment and knowledge. In addition, the volunteers surprised the students with beautiful t-shirts, which they proudly wear.
This is not the first time Gunner and Whitman have implemented this program at our school, and we are delighted that they decided to return. Their passion for teaching and desire to contribute to the development of education in Guatemala is truly inspiring.
