Vista Hermosa Guatemala - Low Quality Housing

Why Guatemala?

With one of the lowest literacy rates in the Western Hemisphere, Jocotenango, Guatemala is an urban area where extreme poverty, gang crime, domestic violence and alcoholism are everyday realities.

Food, physical and mental healthcare, counseling and career guidance remove obstacles to education and enable our students to realize their potential. Our ultimate aim is employment in jobs readily available to those with qualifications in neighbouring Antigua and Guatemala City.

Get Involved!

There are many ways for you to get involved. Become an EFTC Amigo and support a student’s education or nutrition, or volunteer at our school in Guatemala. Or support fundraising and volunteer with us remotely, like and share our work on your social or sign up to our newsletter.

Everything you do makes a difference to our students and allows us to continue expanding our services, adapting to the needs of the community in Jocotenango.
